FAQ

Find the answers to your frequently asked questions about Precision Rail’s aluminum railing systems.

Our product is specifically engineered for each project and location. We will provide the customer stamped submittal drawings and calculation package so that a deferred submittal/permit can be issued.

Due to sheer volume of different variations, we can’t show all the systems that we can provide. Because of our direct connection to the extrusion plant, many of our commercial projects use custom extruded shapes that pertain to that project specifically. Please provide us illustrations of the architectural product proposed, and we will provide a matching or similar product.

Since our fabrication and install crews don’t fit easily into any one trade union, we are a non-union shop. For example, we use glass, but we are not Glaser’s, we use metal, but we are not Iron Workers. With that said, we do projects that require prevailing wage or we can outsource the installation to a union crew to meet our customer requirements.

We are very competitive with our pricing and this is because we use aluminum extrusions which inherently allow us to use profiles which engage each other via snaps, ribs and sockets to name a few connecting mechanisms.  Which further allows us to quickly and economically mechanically attach assemblies. One of our specialties is working with clients to see if we can design the system so that it can use mechanically attached assemblies, which drastically reduces costs and lead times.

Yes! Depending on the scale of the project, we can have the aluminum painted on an automated baked enamel paint line, very similar to the paint system on your automobile. Or we can have smaller scaled projects either painted on a horizontal line or have them powder coated. We just need a paint chip/paint code or a piece of the material you are requesting us to match.
