Precision Rail | Portland, OR

Q1: Is your product engineered?

A1: Our product is specifically engineered for each project and location. We will provide the customer-stamped submittal drawings and calculation package so that a deferred submittal/permit can be issued.

Q2: My client is requesting an architectural product that I don’t see in your marketing materials.

A2: Due to sheer volume of different variations, we can’t show all the systems that we can provide. Because of our direct connection to the extrusion plant, many of our commercial projects use custom extruded shapes that pertain to that project specifically. Please provide us illustrations of the architectural product proposed, and we will provide a matching or similar product.

Q3: Are your install crews union?

A3: We are a non-union shop, but we do projects that require prevailing wage. We can outsource the installation to a union crew to meet our customer’s requirements, or we can do “one project agreements” with the appropriate local union.

Q4: Do we use welded products?

A4: We are very competitive with our pricing compared to steel options.  This is because we use aluminum extrusions which inherently allow us to use profiles that engage each other via snaps, ribs and sockets. to name a few connecting mechanisms. This allows us to quickly and economically attach or assemble railings and balconies.

Q5: Can you match to other painted materials on our job site?

A5: Yes!  Depending on the scale of the project, we can have the aluminum painted on an automated baked enamel paint line, very similar to the paint system on your automobile. Or we can have smaller scaled projects either painted on a horizontal line or have them powder coated. We just need a paint chip/paint code or a piece of the material you are requesting us to match.

Q6: How can your product help us with achieving our LEED designation?

A6: We can possibly help in several areas:

Credit 2.1 & 2.2 – Construction Waste Management.

Credit 4.1 & 4.2 – Recycle Content

Credit 5.1 & 5.2 – Regional Materials Extracted, Processed, Manufactured.

Visit the USBCG website for more details about LEED credits.
